Kim Prytz sensei achieved the mammoth task of successfully swimming breaststroke to Robben Island and back in 10:26:39, making her the 1st person in the world to do so. Together with Shihan Chris Thompson, his wife Jean Thompson, and Samurai Claremont, Kim raised enough money to buy 551 blankets for the learners of Capricorn Primary School.
As written in the Weekend Argus: “I am glad to see the light in the faces of children. The children were so happy, it was like a celebration to them,” said Kim.
School principal Siddieka Hassen welcomed the donation: “I am overwhelmed because these children come from impoverished areas. Many of them either have unemployed parents or come from low-income households. These children will be able to warm up in the classroom now,” she said.
Samurai Dojo School’s director, Bruce van Rensburg, said they were happy to contribute to the initiative. “If we can bless the children with a little more warmth for added comfort to make learning easier, then all the better,” he said.
OSAAA WARRIORS, keep making a difference 🙏
